A huge congratulations to Old Seafordians Mats and Tom Gramsbusch, and Chris Ruhr on winning the Hockey World Cup with Germany last weekend in India.

In a dramatic final, the Germans came from 2-0 down against defending champions Belgium to win 5-4 after a penalty shoot-out. Mats is the captain of the German team and all three attended Seaford College at the same time.

Ben Barnes, Head of Hockey at Seaford, played against Mats and coached Reading while Mats was playing for East Grinstead. “I’m so pleased for them all to win the World Cup. They were very talented juniors who gave a great deal to the school when they were here.”
