We were deeply saddened to hear news of the death earlier this year of Old Seafordian Beau Hartley (2011-14). Beau died while serving in the British Army.

In letter of condolence from the Rt Hon John Healey MP, Secretary of State for Defence, Beau was described as "a trailblazer in the demanding field of Close Combat Patrol Dogs, he demonstrated outstanding competence and leadership in a highly challenging specialism. His work saw him deploy across the world, from handling Tracker Dogs in the jungles of Brunei to working with Arms and Explosive Search Dogs in Cyprus. Beau also shared his expertise as a mentor to counterparts in the Pakistan Army. He was clearly a highly talented and professional soldier."

We send our heartfelt condolences to his family.
