Old Seafordian Lara Sturgis, a member of the GB Hansa class sailing team, has launched an appeal to help raise money so the team can take part in the European Championships in Barcelona this September.
Lara, who has cerebral palsy, was at Seaford College from 2005 to 2012, and is a big rugby fan. The appeal gives doners the chance to win a rugby shirt signed by England internationals Tom and Ben Curry. “It’s a brilliant prize for any rugby fan – a unique piece of memorabilia from two of the most exciting players in the game,” said Lara.
“By entering, you’re not just in with a chance of winning something special. You’re helping our team get to the Hansa European Championships. The funds raised will support travel, accommodation, coaching, safety support, and the transport of specialist adaptive equipment.”
To enter the draw for the signed England rugby shirt, go to the Crowdfunder web page here: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/qr/YlbkjPaW
Hansa sailing opens the sport to disabled sailors, giving them independence, confidence, and the opportunity to compete on the international stage.
The prize draw will run alongside the Six Nations rugby tournament, with the prizes being drawn on 14th March 2026. Thanks in advance for your support.
