Old Seafordians' News |
Seaford College is known for the variety and strength of its co-curricular programme – something which featured prominently in conversations at the recent ‘Seaford on Tour’ alumni gathering in London.
There was reminiscing about victorious rugby teams and time spent in the CCF. Many also bonded over their love of music and particularly being members of the choir at Seaford. Bryan Edwards (Seaford 1954-57) was the Head Chorister and very kindly brought along some old vinyl LPs of choir recordings. He’s pictured here in London with Director of Marketing Sarah Twigger.
Graham Forster (1972-77) also spoke fondly of his time in the choir and the foreign tours they would make under the leadership of Choir Master Philip Hill. Philip was a much loved and fondly-remembered former teacher (1958-94) and student in Corsica House (1947-51), building and running the Chapel Choir for more than 20 years. He took the Choir on world tours, singing at some historical venues including the Berlin Wall, the Kremlin, Versailles and in Washington DC.
Many thanks to alumni for sharing memories of their time at Seaford across nine decades.
