It’s been wonderful welcoming back to two Old Seafordians who have recently left the college, and returned to inspire our current students about two very different careers.

Former Head Boy Ed Gordon-Thomson visited Seaford last week to talk to students about his time at Queen’s University Belfast, studying Biochemistry (BSc Hons) with an industrial placement in microbiology. Ed is now in his third year and his placement is at WuXi Biologics Ireland.

Speaking to Years 11–13, he encouraged students to find the university that feels right for them, sharing his own decision process and future ambitions for postgraduate study. His talk gave Seaford students valuable insight into both the academic and cultural opportunities that await at university and beyond.

Tom Jillians, who left Seaford in 2021, recently graduated with a First from Bristol University, where he studied for a BSc in Politics & International Relations.

He popped into school to advise students thinking of doing a politics degree on which type of course to choose, what to look out for in a university, which other relevant courses to do and how to create a strong CV.

A huge thank you to Ed and Tom for inspiring our students.
