Alumni make 'flying visit'
Capt. Chris Weld and First Officer Jude Mayes

Spotted at Seaford yesterday were alumni parent Capt. Chris Weld, and Old Seafordians First Officer Jude Mayes and pilot-in-training Seb Limpus chatting to students at our Careers Tea about becoming a pilot.

They were joined by Roland Fairfield, former Engineering Director at Cathay Pacific, and part of the Concorde project, who joined the meeting to discuss technology in aviation.

Angela Loten, Head of Careers at Seaford, said: “This was a highly informative talk, and we learnt about the difference between an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) and a Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL). We could also contrast EasyJet with British Airways. One of the main things to takeaway for students was that you need to be able to demonstrate all the essential skills: teamwork, problem solving, communication etc.”

Thanks to Chris, Jude and Seb for coming into Seaford, and also to Roland for a fascinating talk.
